For several years I thought I would like to visit the place where Christ was born. In my search for pictures of the Holy City, I found a treasure trove of photos on Facebook showing the Christmas Market. What I saw shocked me. I was hoping that at least in Bethlehem, the place of Christ's birth, I would be seeing a celebration of Christ. 

True, if you look very carefully you can see a nativity on the stage.

What a blessing! I am so grateful to God that I am able to write this blog at all. In 2012, I believe I died and returned - at least that's what my PSW said. In addition to that, the infection from the dog bites was so severe they were going to amputate my right hand and right leg, but thanks to the intercession of many mighty prayer warriors God allowed me to keep my arm and leg.

This was excellent teaching for me on the mood cycles that Christians often go through. As well as the importance of having a wide foundation 20:30.

This is something that I had been struggling with since being reborn - How do I carry God with me throughout my day - in my labour and in my leisure? 

The thing I didn't realize in my spirit is God is with me at all times, and it's not me carrying Him in my heart, but God carrying me through my day. 

After I was reborn and came to walk with The Holy Spirit it was like when you first fall in love. I wanted to spend every waking minute with Him. I didn't want anything to possibly jeopardize that connection I'd found. Then, some very interesting things happened while I was teaching in Attawapiskat that strengthened my faith that God stands by me at all times, but that's another story.

Hmmm... that's a new word for me.. eschatology. What on earth does eschatology mean?

Years ago, someone recommended I watch It's Supernatural with Sid Roth. I had no television at the time. I still don't, but the first time I had an opportunity to watch Sid Roth's show It's Supernatural, it was like a divine appointment. It was the first time I had ever heard of anyone other than myself experiencing what I called "being transported". Curious?

I started taking a free online course through Lego and one of our first assignments was to recreate a childhood play memory. 

Nothing much sprang to my mind right away, but after people were asked to share their childhood play memories, it stimulated this Childhood Play Memories Post. 

This experience opened my eyes to how important it is to hear the testimonies of God's grace in other people's lives. Hearing how God has helped others really encourages me. 

Why? 

When I hear other people's stories it stimulates like-minded. thoughts. 

So, if you want positive thoughts - hang with people who are making a positive impact on life, and always speak life.

Gratitude - Journeying Along - Almost 2 Months Borrowed Time!

 Two Months of Living on Borrowed Time

October 1st when I was told I would die unless I had an emergency cath done on my heart immediately, it didn't make sense. Why? Previously in the spring, I had the opportunity to be examined by the heart specialist at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto on my way back home from Kingston. Well, today is November 25th almost 2 months have gone past. This isn't my first rodeo against death with God by my side. I believe I've died three times, so what's one more?

1.  I got a lovely public thank you in reply to my Tweet from the folks who created a free booking app so churches could safely social distance.  Whoever is running their Twitter account definitely knows a thing or two about positive social media.
2. A lovely young lady at the Holiday Inn Express called to check on me when she noticed I hadn't come down for breakfast.
3. I was thrilled to be accepted as a Publisher by ShareASale. I've worked with this company before and really enjoyed it.

 Be not afraid. Do not panic before them, for the Lord Your God will personally go before you. He will be with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you. 

 Have you ever felt compelled to go somewhere, but not been sure about going? Amazing things happen when people follow the urging of the Holy Spirit. 

 If you feel an urge to go somewhere, and you’re not sure what you’re going to say when you get there, just ask Our Creator to fill your mouth with the words He wants you to say. You may be as amazed at what happens as the person you meet and speak to.

Why do we sometimes get unusual urgings to go to places? 

When you get a feeling you are to go to a place, it can be the Holy Spirit guiding you to a Divine appointment. However, it's best to double or even triple check, especially if that urging is something really unusual.

This is why Gideon placed the fleece on the ground before going into battle - to be sure it was God directing his path.

If after double-checking, you feel it really is something you should be doing, then you may soon find out one of two things.

• You are being urged to go somewhere to bring a spark into your day,, or
•  You are being urged to go somewhere to brighten the day of someone else. 

 Have you ever followed the urging of your heart to go somewhere and found that the Lord went personally ahead of you?

Yes, God will even send hugs from heaven. There is an old song called “Pennies from Heaven”. I believe all kinds of things can come from Heaven – even hugs! Twice I’ve received hugs from heaven when I cried out to God that I really needed a hug. Have you received a hug from heaven too? Horrible, Painful, Dreadful Make Praiseworthy Opportunities 

Are you being refined?

I have gone through some absolutely crazy things in my life, and I'm going through a real battle right now, but the reading in my inbox this morning reminded me of how horrible things can lead to amazing gains for God's Kingdom.

Here is an excerpt from the free 40 page publication:

Paul and Silas were arrested, flogged, and thrown in prison, contrary to Roman law (v. 37). Their misfortune turned into an opportunity for the gospel as the jailer and his household were converted. When the magistrates learned of their mistake, they tried to send the two away quietly. But Paul demanded that the magistrates escort them from the prison, which amounted to a public apology from them. >>

 

The gospel’s power does not depend on you! 

What you experience as a setback in your life could be God’s open door for the gospel to move forward. Ask God to help you recognize the difference and to accept and even welcome His working in your life.

 PRAY WITH US When we encounter difficulties and opposition, is it a setback or an open door from God? Father, help us see and understand the difference and act according to the guidance of your Spirit.

So, if you, like me, are going through a crazy battle- hang in there!

I first discovered Frederick Sasakamoose, one of Canada's greatest hockey players, through a slim book by N. Mortillaro titled Hockey Trailblazers.

October 1st, Dr. Carina Hoang told me that if I didn't get a cath done on my heart immediately, I would die. However, earlier this year I saw a heart specialist at St. Mike's in Toronto who told me that the problem is not my heart. I, therefore, begged to be referred to an internist who had seen me for chest pains earlier in my life.

Carnation Miracle!

After reading Free the Children by Craig Kielburger, it was in my heart that I too wanted to do something to help the children enslaved in India and Pakistan.
It was put into my heart to go to a local fruit and vegetable stand with some friends. When I walked in there was an open case of Carnation Milk on the floor. In the dark, I could just make out the shape of the case and the distinctive red and white label. I felt an urging to pick up the case. At first I went to pick up the open half case, but something inside me urged me to picked up the full sealed case. Okay, I thought- I know it definitely won't go to waste. My friends helped me carry it to their truck,
Once I got it home and throught the door , I felt an urging once more. This time to open the case and look at a can. I could hardly believe my eyes! There to my surprise was We support WE! There was no way I could know that the Carnation canned milk had the little blue logo on it, for it was concealed by the cardboard case!

3 Wonton Soup Recipes

Do you like Wonton Soup? The best Wonton Soup I ever had  so far was at a restaurant in Kapuskasing, Ontario. Usually when I've had Wonton soup. there isn't much to it - just what appears to be chicken broth with a few folded wonton wrappers floating in it. However, this wanton soup was full of vegetables and had huge meatballs inside the Wonton wrappers!

She took her younger sister to Canada's Wonderland several times and arranged for me to get a pedicure too. Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle was one of my favourite books growing up. I was not aware it had been made into a movie, until a couple of weeks ago when I spotted the DVD multi-pack at a local store on sale.

Excitedly, I snatched it up, quickly devouring the list of Bonus Features on the back of the case with my eyes. For me, purchasing a video is all about the Bonus Features.
