Converted Muslims Lead Dangerous Lives!
A few weeks ago I opened an important prayer request for Our Father to place a hedge of protection around former Muslims living in the USA who are now believers in the Son of the Living God , Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah).
I was just led to scroll through my numerous emails and open an update and request for continued prayers - unfortunately it was dated August 29th and I just saw it now.
Here is a copy of this email:
Dear Friend,
We want to update you regarding Brother Mehrdad’s 5th hearing. Unfortunately, the judge sustained the government’s charges against him, agreeing with their claim that he was not officially admitted or paroled into the country and did not arrive with a visa or border crossing card. These are unreasonable charges: 1) he did have interim parole authorization, and 2) acquiring a visa or a border crossing card was never available to Iranians on the official government app used for requesting entry at the southern border.
While this was disappointing, this is not the final decision. The judge has granted time for Mehrdad’s attorney to submit additional evidence, which could help overcome these findings. His attorney has already filed a new bond request, and Mehrdad’s next scheduled hearing is on Thursday, September 11, 2025. The date for the bond hearing is still to be determined.
Brother Mehrdad was scared during the hearing as the ICE attorney and the judge were discussing the possibility of deportation to Iran.
He said, “As I was hearing them talking about deporting me to Iran, my hands and feet were shaking and my heart was failing me.”
He has now been in prison for 10 weeks. It has been very difficult for him and our Persian Church community here in Colorado.
We believe God is working behind the scenes, and we must continue to pray earnestly for His intervention.
For your awareness, Mehrdad’s attorney intends to request that the judge make a decision regarding the withholding of any possible removal, specifically under the Convention Against Torture. Only an immigration judge has the authority to make that determination.
Let us be reminded of the early church’s response when Peter was imprisoned:
“Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.”
— Acts 12:5
Please continue to pray for:
● Wisdom and clarity for his attorney as new evidence is prepared and submitted
● Mercy and justice from the judge on September 11
● Strength, peace, and encouragement for Brother Mehrdad as he endures this unjust detention
Thank you for faithfully standing with us and with our persecuted brother. We will keep you updated.
In Christ,
Mohamad & Susan Faridi
P.S. Mohamad is leaving this evening for our Summer Bible Distribution in the Middle East. Please keep him and the team in your prayers.
