Praise God!

This post has the story behind the Doxology I grew up singing at Bethel United Church.

I was christened as an infant at Bethel United Church just outside Omemee, Ontario. It was here that I first found Jesus and learned of His Father's amazing love for us all. I have many wonderful happy memories of my experiences there as a small child.

I learned to read by standing on the pew between my mother and my sister, singing along to the hymns and following along in the hymn book. One hymn that was sung almost every week was the Doxology, so it may well have been the first thing I learned to read. The Doxology was sung as the collection plate was brought to the alter after the collection was taken up.
Here is a virtual choir from Hamilton Ontario singing the Doxology as I remember it.

Gratitude - Journeying Along - Almost 2 Months Borrowed Time!

Two Months of Living on Borrowed Time

October 1st when I was told I would die unless I had an emergency cath done on my heart immediately, it didn't make sense. Why? Previously in the spring, I had the opportunity to be examined by the heart specialist at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto on my way back home from Kingston. Well, today is November 25th almost 2 months have gone past. This isn't my first rodeo against death with God by my side. I believe I've died three times, so what's one more?
Here is my Happy Gratitude list today:

My Happy Gratitude List

  1.  I got a lovely public thank you in reply to my Tweet from the folks who created a free booking app so churches could safely social distance.  Whoever is running their Twitter account definitely knows a thing or two about positive social media.
  2. A lovely young lady at the Holiday Inn Express called to check on me when she noticed I hadn't come down for breakfast.
  3. I was thrilled to be accepted as a Publisher by ShareASale. I've worked with this company before and really enjoyed it.
What are you thankful for today!

Thankful Thoughts Along My Journey

We Cannot Direct the Wind - We Can Alter Our Sails

First, I am grateful to God for loving us so much to send His Son to die for me and show me the way to go home.
Secondly, I am grateful for the amazing healing miracles I have had in my life.

Living in Limbo

 Waiting!

Have you ever been living in limbo? Stuck between? Waiting and waiting and waiting?

This post is an update to Turtle Dove Thoughts: Fighting For My Life! Prayers Welcome!

There is a wonderful Bible study available on the Bible Offline app by Mr. Rocco called In God's Waiting Room that addresses just such times in our lives.

Fighting For My Life! Prayers Welcome!

Please see the update on this situation Turtle Dove Thoughts: Living in Limbo
October 1st, Dr. Carina Hoang told me that if I didn't get a cath done on my heart immediately, I would die. However, earlier this year I saw a heart specialist at St. Mike's in Toronto who told me that the problem is not my heart. I, therefore, begged to be referred to an internist who had seen me for chest pains earlier in my life.

End of the World?

Coronavirus -19 Musings

The R.E.M. song It's the End of the World as We Know It is playing on my internal radio. Really, isn't every day the end of the world as we know it?
At the end of each day there have been so many actions and interactions that the world will not be the same the next day at all.
