Studying the Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem
All over the world, there are conflicts. Our Messiah taught that there would be wars and rumours of wars before He finally returned. Some people believe that this may be "the war" referred to in scripture when the people of Jerusalem need to climb into the hills and hide in caves. Whether it is the final war before Our Messiah returns or not, I believe we ought to continue to pray for peace as has been taught in the following scripture:

There could be as many translations of The Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem found in Psalm 122 verses 6 and 7 as Carter has kidney pills. Today, when I was looking for a scripture to read on my new Rumble Channel - Bible Readings, I was led to open a Gideon Bible kindly given to me by the Scott Mission Shop in Toronto, Ontario. The Gideons distribute the NASB 1995 version.
When I opened the Bible, I was led to a short Psalm. Now, since the print in this book is fairly small, I can barely read the words without a magnifying glass. Therefore, I was quite surprised to discover it was Psalm 122 subtitled A Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem.
It has been in my heart to pray for the peace of Jerusalem ever since the time of the attack way back in October. However, I have to admit, I had not yet taken the time to sit down and wholeheartedly fervently pray for the peace of Jerusalem. I also had no idea that there was this specific prayer for the peace of Jerusalem. Why had I previously been blinded to the existence of this prayer? Here is the prayer I was led to read out loud today.
Psalm 122:6-7 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem-
"May they prosper who love you.
May peace be within your walls,
And prosperity within your palaces."
Since reading this English translation, of the prayer. I have been led to also read it in a few more English translations and write them down with ink and pen. Each translation has a subtle difference. See if you can spot the differences and commonalities in these English translations of Psalm 122:6-7.

New English Translation
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
May those who love her prosper.
May there be peace within
your defences
and prosperity within

The Misleading Common Error in These Three English Prayer Translations
Unfortunately, many people have been sadly misled by a common error in these English translations - one that may affect their soul's final destination.
Many prosperity preachers out there are teaching the people should pray for the peace of Jerusalem for a very selfish reason and that reason is based on a mistranslation!
According to translation resources listed at Blue Letter Bible.org, and even Google Translate, the original Hebrew word pronounced "shaw-law" was mistranslated into "prosper". The original Hebrew word actually means "to have peace of mind.' That's right it has absolutely nothing to do with money!
Sorry to burst your bubble people, but praying for the peace of Jerusalem will not make you into the world's next gazillionaire.
The New International Version, on the other hand, is more aligned with the original Hebrew decree. Here is the NIV translation of Psalm 122:6-7
New International Version Psalm 122:6-7
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
"May those who love you
be secure
May there be peace within your walls
and security within
your citadels."
While praying for anything or anyone should come from a place of compassion in our hearts and not for any other reason, it is nice to know that there is a side benefit decreed for people who pray for the peace of Jerusalem. This is a side benefit I am sure many of us could definitely use - peace of mind or a feeling of security.

It is amazing how our troubles can go,
When we answer that very ancient call,
And pray for peace within Jerusalem's walls.
Oh pray for peace within Jerusalem's walls,
When you do your troubles will seem infinitesimally small!
Will you pray for peace within Jerusalem's walls?
Will you pray for Our Father to bring peace within Jerusalem's walls?
