Who Was That Man?

Have You Wondered Who Was That Man In The Field?

This post has my contemplations about the man in the field who directed Joseph to where his brothers were that fateful day when he was sold into slavery.

The Man in the Field - Essential to the Salvation of the Hebrew People?
When I read this scripture, a few things jump right off the page at me:
  1. What was the man doing in the field that he would find Joseph wandering the fields?
  2. The phrasing "a certain man" seems almost like a "wink, wink, nudge, nudge"phrase to me
  3. How could the prophetic dreams Joseph had as a boy have come true if that man had not directed him to his brother's whereabouts that day?
For me, the songs that come into my heart when I read this passage are "There's a Man in Here Making Water into Wine", "I Exalt Thee" and "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord"
I wonder what the original Hebrew Scripture says and what the Hebrew scholars say about who this certain man in the field was?

What comes to you when you read this passage? Do you see Christ at work here too?
I would love to hear your point of view!

Have a great wonderful day wondering.
