3 Easy Frugal Ways Seniors Can Take a Break

How Can We Rest?

It is wonderful to be blessed with a day of rest. As a senior, I sometimes feel I have so little time and so much to do, so it can be tricky to stop and take a break. However, I know that if don't take a break my body will make me take a break!

Many people in Canada exclaim TGIF on Fridays. If this phrase is new to you, it means -  Thank Goodness It's Friday!

Yes! Getting to Friday truly is a good reason to celebrate.

Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone really took a rest for 24 hours starting at sundown on Friday night?
♡ No cooking!
♡ No cleaning!
♡ No driving all over the place searching for a parking space!

I believe we would have :
☆ Better air to breathe
☆ Emptier emergency rooms
☆ Improved health and attitudes

My Challenges Observing Shabbat

When I first started trying to take a full day of rest, I was surprised at how challenging it seemed to be - suddenly chores I had been putting off gained overwhelming importance - until after sundown on Saturday, that is. Weird, huh?
Anyway, enough about me.

This post has a list of fun frugal things you might like to do to take a little break.

3 Frugal Ways Canadian Seniors Can Take a Break

1. Take a nap. Sound too boring? Try influencing your dreams by playing a favourite book on audio while you sleep. Lately, I have been listening to the free YouVersion Bible App. It can be very interesting to see what you dream of while listening to scriptures.

2. Try some Tai Chi. The gentle stretching exercises in Tai Chi are good for most bodies but check with your doctor. You can see some beginning Tai Chi moves on YouTube.

3. Take a break from cooking using easy no-cook recipes. Do you have some easy no-cook recipes to share? Hôtel Dieu for Women is putting together a collaborative cookbook where everyone whose recipes are included in their cookbook will get a portion of the proceeds!
