Interceding - Repelling Wrath

Praying Intercession Against Wrath

Many people are excitedly proclaiming these are the end times and to prepare our hearts for the Ezekiel 38 war that is about to break loose. However, instead of excitedly looking forward to the destruction of the earth and a third of the people dying, it is possible that we should be interceding in prayer and pleading for Our Heavenly Father to have mercy on us and not destroy the earth and its people.
This morning, I was led to the following scriptures:
  • The wrath of a living king is like messengers of death, but a wise man pacifies it. Proverbs 16:14
  • Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles. Or the LORD will see it and be displeased and turn His wrath away from him. Proverbs 24:17-18
These scriptures got me thinking about how Abraham pleaded for Sodom and Gomorrah not to be destroyed, and how Moses pleaded for the lives of the Israelites when Our Father was going to destroy them in the desert.

Could it be that the reason for this coming season of death and destruction that has been foretold for centuries will come about because there is no one to be found who is willing to shout to the LORD on behalf of all the people? "Father! Forgive them, for they do not know what they do!"
