Zach Williams Miracle Full Circle Music Career Story
This morning I woke to the Zach Williams song, "Less Like Me" playing on the LIFE 100.3 Christian radio app. The lyrics were a perfect fit for me and really summed up in a nutshell my Elul prayer for how I want Our Creator to help me to be.
I was then led to look up some more information on this song and the singer. Now, perhaps you already know about the amazing journey Zach has been on with his music career, but if the music and life of Zach Williams are new to you too, perhaps you will be thrilled with his overcomer story too.
In some ways, Zach's story reminds me a lot of Earle Thiessen's overcomer journey and how he came full circle in an ascending spiral after his life spiralled down through addictions.
Scripture:

How Our Saviour Redeemed Zach Williams from Addictions
Listening to some of the lyrics from Zach Williams's newest album, like:
"The Bible on the nightstand no longer is a coaster" - Jesus' Fault
you might start to wonder - is he singing from experience? The answer is a resounding, "Yes!"
Here is a bit of the story behind where Zach was and how he came to be where he is today. I hope this will give you hope for your loved ones who might be battling addictions.
Zach Williams's Descent Into Addiction
Zach grew up in a good family, went to the right schools, and had a promising future, but moving into a rock and roll lifestyle took him down a rocky road into drugs and alcohol that destroyed one marriage, placed a second marriage in danger and resulted in a severe scare - esophageal cancer! but that still didn't faze Zach. Even with the doctor warning him that the drugs and alcohol would kill him, he just partied hardier.
When a band member started attending a local church, it lit a bit of hope in Zach. Zach and his wife started attending the church where they received a warm welcome, but evil wasn't through with Zach quite yet.
When Zach went on tour with his band in Europe, despite his promises to his wife that he was going to remain sober, he got tempted into that old lifestyle once again.
How a Song Changed Zach Williams' Life
Then, when the bus driver was flipping through radio stations, an amazing thing happened - a song by Big Daddy Weave came on the radio - Redeemed. Zach's heart was ripe and ready for that message.
Zach returned home, gave his life to Christ, quit the music industry and worked in his father's business to pay the bills.
Now, this is where it gets interesting.
Zach Williams Rises Up Unexpectedly Higher
Our Heavenly Father arranged an absolutely amazing divine appointment for Zach! In 2014, Zach was filling in for the worship leader at his church's main campus and a very influential music producer just happened to be visiting his wife's family and they attended that particular service.
Zach was invited to go to Nashville and write for none other than Johnathan Smith and Mia Fieldes! While there, Zach wrote "Chain Breaker". Based on his church singing and a demo of that song Zach got miraculously signed to a record label!
Zach's wife persuaded him to share his testimony at a prison and when he and a buddy played "Chain Breaker" he was honoured to open his eyes and see prisoners on their knees giving their lives to the LORD.
Touched by his experience with prison ministry, he went on to record a 6 song EP - Survivor Live From Harding Prison which skyrocketed up the charts to win a Grammy nod.
Zach is currently touring part of the USA with his latest album - A Hundred Highways.
What an amazing journey Zach has been on! Please pray for travelling mercies for him and that he and his family will continue to have praises to sing about what a difference Our Father's love has made in his life!
