4 Hebrew Secrets Behind Proverbs 3:5-6

What Does Proverbs 3:5-6 Really Mean?

Have you ever felt like your own understanding was a broken staff that let you down just when you needed it most? We’ve likely all read Proverbs 3:5-6 a hundred times, but when we look at the original Hebrew, the message shifts from a passive sentiment to a radical, physical way of living.

Proverbs 3:5-6 in English and Hebrew from the YouVersion Bible app. The text includes the Hebrew root words בְּטַח (Trust) and שָׁעַן (Lean) alongside the full verse: 'Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.'
A look at the Hebrew and English text of Proverbs 3:5-6 from the YouVersion Bible app—a beautiful starting point for our study.

Today, let’s peel back the layers of these familiar words to discover what the Creator is truly inviting us into.

Elul Traditions -Reciting Psalm 27 for Protection

Psalm 27 Mystical Protection Formula?

This morning I listened to a very interesting deep dive by Rabbi Mendel Kaplan into the time-honoured tradition of people reciting Psalm 27 daily as a way of removing any legalistic angelic claims or curses against us.  Why Psalm 27? Where did this tradition come from? These are all questions that were covered in this fascinating deep dive into the origins of this tradition that started towards the end of the 1700s.

My Experience Trying to Guard My Dreams Against Unwanted Interference

Interceding - Repelling Wrath

Praying Intercession Against Wrath

Many people are excitedly proclaiming these are the end times and to prepare our hearts for the Ezekiel 38 war that is about to break loose. However, instead of excitedly looking forward to the destruction of the earth and a third of the people dying, it is possible that we should be interceding in prayer and pleading for Our Heavenly Father to have mercy on us and not destroy the earth and its people.
This morning, I was led to the following scriptures:
  • The wrath of a living king is like messengers of death, but a wise man pacifies it. Proverbs 16:14
  • Do not rejoice when your enemy falls, and do not let your heart be glad when he stumbles. Or the LORD will see it and be displeased and turn His wrath away from him. Proverbs 24:17-18
These scriptures got me thinking about how Abraham pleaded for Sodom and Gomorrah not to be destroyed, and how Moses pleaded for the lives of the Israelites when Our Father was going to destroy them in the desert.

Could it be that the reason for this coming season of death and destruction that has been foretold for centuries will come about because there is no one to be found who is willing to shout to the LORD on behalf of all the people? "Father! Forgive them, for they do not know what they do!"

April 26 Professional Administrative Assistant Day Musings

Creator Helps Professional Administrative Assistants Be Productive!

Proverbs 2:6 states:
For G-d gives vision, from His mouth come knowledge and wisdom.
My March of Dimes Employment Counselor suggested I might be a good candidate for an online Professional  Administrative assistant position, since I am having great difficulty getting out and about with my numerous allergies.
Lately, I have come to realize what a great blessing it hass been to be able to use my eyes without pain. Over the past few months, I have developed extremely dry eyes, and the optometrist believes I may have Sjogren's disease.

While I previously thought of Proverbs2:6 as referring to spiritual vision and insights, Our Creator is also The One who gives us physical sight. Prayers for my dry eye problem to go away are very much appreciated!

I find it interesting that Professional  Administrative Assistants Day falls on April 26 and I thank G-d for my mind being given this connection to help me remember the location of this scripture.Afterall- it would be very challenging to be a Professional Administrative Assistant without vision!

Which Biblical Vision is Your Favourite?

The Bible is full of examples of visions, dreams and riddles through which G-d has shared the things which were to come with people who wrote then down. From the dreams of Joseph to the final book of thr Bible- Revelation. Which vision in the Bible is your favourite?

I write quite a few blog posts, and it is delightful when someone cares to take the time to write a letter thanking you, especially when they are extremely busy. I received this lovely letter the other day from some extremely busy people across the pond in Northern Ireland regarding one of their fascinating videos of Church history that I shared in this post Lessons From the Welsh Christianity Revival of 1904
