5 Biblical Proofs We Need to Watch What We Say!
Several years ago, I had the opportunity to go to a healing service where Joan Hunter was the honoured guest. I was healed of permanent nerve damage to my face at that service. This Shabbat I have been binge-watching Joan Hunter's Healing School videos after discovering them on YouTube last night. In her videos, Joan shares examples of absolutely incredible healings that have happened when people have spoken positive solutions to problems "in the name of Jesus". Throughout the healing video series, Joan emphasizes continually, "Watch Your Words!" After marvelling at some of the amazing miracles of provision that happened, I was led to turn off the YouTube I was watching and open the YouVersion Bible App at Isaiah 44:26 and look carefully at the first part of this verse:
Scripture:
- Isaiah 44:26 a - Confirming the words of His servant and performing the purpose of His messengers
Wow!
This got me thinking of other scriptures that emphasize the importance of watching what we say. This post has five scriptures that emphasize the importance of watching our words. Perhaps these will be useful to you too.

5 Scriptures That Remind Us to Watch Our Words
- Isaiah 44:26 (a) Confirming the words of His servant and performing the purpose of His messengers - Here Our Father says that He will back up what His servant and messengers say with action. Our Father's greatest servant was His Son - The Messiah.
- John 14:14 If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.
- Job 22:28 You will decree a thing and it shall be established.
- Matthew 15:11 It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds from the mouth that defiles the man.
- Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you.
Therefore, it is definitely important to ask the Holy Spirit to help us speak positive things into the world and take great care not to let anything come out of our mouths that we would not wish to see come to fruition.
