In the introduction to his book David  Cole writes:
“Believer” and the plural refer to those who acknowledge Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Simply believing is not enough. Even demons “believe” in Him and acknowledge His power (Matthew 8:30-32). The “faithful”, by contrast, are steadfast believers who trust in Him, repent, and intend to lead a new life as evidenced by their actions in the world (John 13:34-35; 1 John 2:29; 1 Peter 1:8-9). Belief is a function of the mind and often transitory; faith is a permanent condition of the heart, inspiring righteous action (James 2:18).

Have You Decided to Follow Jesus?

What does it mean to follow Jesus? . From the time I was four and had asked Christ into my life on my neighbour's floor, I had been walking with God. However,  I hadn't had anyone to take me by the hand and help me understand the amazing things that happened in my life.
In the parable of the sower, Christ speaks of different types of soil that seeds can fall into. I guess I was fertile soil, but that didn't mean that misguided people wouldn't try to pull that growing faith in me up, or twist that plant for their own purposes.

Evil does not want people to be faithful to God and it will use all kinds of things to come against you when you ask Christ to come into your heart.  We see in scripture that right after Christ was baptized He was lead by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness and there He was tempted by evil. If Christ was tempted by evil, it stands to reason that anyone asking Christ into their heart will be tempted by evil too.

When I asked Christ to come and live in my heart as an adult, it was the beginning of a whole new way of living and I gained a whole new perspective on life. Did evil stop its attacks? No!
However, now I am better equipped to understand the attacks that come against me.

Each day is a new opportunity to draw closer to God and to more fully understand His love and His plans for our lives. as the old hymn says: "I am so glad that Our Father in Heaven, Tells of His love in the book He has written!!"

If you do not have a Bible, and you are reading this online, I highly recommend the free YouVersion Bible App it has multiple translations of the Bible in many languages.

Is reading difficult for you? Whether you want to hear the word as you go through your day, or listen to the word as upon your bed you lay, Audiobooks has a wide variety of Audio Bibles including some free editions that you can download and listen to.

Want a paper copy of the Bible? Choose a Bible that you will open and read. When you start reading the Bible, choose a Bible that you can read easily so you don't get frustrated and leave it sitting to gather dust.

Not sure where to start? The American Bible Society has a free Daily Bible reading guide you can download here. Once you really start getting interested in the Bible you may find yourself wanting to read it in its original languages, too.

Whether you have a Bible or not, God will put His words in your heart as promised in Jeremiah "I will put my law in their minds and write my words in their hearts. I will be their God and they will be my people."
