How I Know Our Heavenly Father Heals
Our Creator is amazing. He has kindly blessed me with the opportunity to be healed in amazing ways through prayer.
It can be frustrating when people receive prayer and are not healed before their eyes. G-d has allowed me to experience having to wait for my repeated prayer requests to be answered too.
The important thing to know is that Our Creator loves us all very much. And He answers EVERY prayer. His answers are:
- Yes
- Not yet, and...
- I have a better plan.
All prayers for healing are answered- they just have different answers.
Sometimes Creator's plans for our life include going through some VERY tough stuff. There may be people along the way that He wants us to meet, for example.
Christ said, "You will have trials and tribulations in this world, but be of good cheer, for I have overcome this world."
True, there is "one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy", but Our Creator is awesome. He can take our infirmities and create something amazing and new. For example, the Joni and Friends Ministry started by Joni Eareckson-Tada has brought hope to thousands of wheelchair users around the world.
Just keep praying! G-d's timing is PERFECT and He will decide when and if it is time for a person to be healed. We must be persistent like the widow in the parable about the unjust judge.
The Importance of Praying for Everyone
If Creator puts it in your heart to pray for someone and they say, "I don't believe in that stuff." Say "That's okay. May I pray for you anyway?"
Healing is appealing, but a stony heart turned to Our Heavenly Father - that's priceless!
That is what happened one day at the foodbank in Cochrane, Ontario. The foodbank coordinator was walking with a limp and I saw he was in pain.
"Oh my! " I gasped, "You look like you are in so much pain. May I pray for you?"
He shook his head and said, "I don't believe in that stuff."
"That's okay. " I replied, "May I pray for you anyway?"
He nodded and let me pray - just so I would go away. I said, "I'm going to pray in my other language,"- then started praying in the spirit. However, I felt the prayer I said was about his face!
Nothing seemed to have happened, and he was losing patience with me, so I said I would continue to hold him in prayer.
A couple of months later, Creator allowed me to see the man again. When he saw me, he exclaimed, "You made a believer out of me!"
I looked at him quizzically.
"Remember when you prayed for me you wondered why you were praying for my face? I didn't tell you but I was to go for a pre-op appointment for surgery on the bones in my face in a few days.
When I went to my appointment the surgeon was shocked and asked, "What did yFou do?"
I asked him, "Why?"
The specialist replied, "You've been healed!"
You see, the prayer for that man's healing had nothing to do with me. I thought I was going to pray for his limp- the prayer that flowed out was something quite different.
Creator had a better plan!
