Why Does God Want us to Prosper? What Does He Mean?

• Sell everything you have, give the money to the poor and follow me.
• Lay up treasures for yourself in Heaven.
• I will go before you.

Many prosperity preachers will point to Jeremiah 29:11 and say -"See God wants you to be prosperous!"

However, when a rich young man came to Christ and asked His advice, Christ gave him advice that made him very sad. The young lad was quite prosperous. What did Christ tell to him to do?

This is a challenge set before Christians. 

When God allows us to prosper, what are we to do with the prosperity?
